Stress is a state of emotional or mental strain. Many times, stress may simply arise due to apprehension of an expected potential situation. Your body is naturally trained to handle occasional short episodes of stress, but a regular stressful state can lead to numerous mental and physical disorders like hypertension, insomnia, anxiety,
compulsive eating, and a weak immune system. A continued state of stress eventually leads to increased stomach acids, diminished hormones, high cholesterol and exhaustion, as well.

Anxiety is one of the symptoms of stress. Frequent episodes of anxiety are your body’s way of signaling to you that some steps need to be taken for managing stress.

  • To start with, take frequent breaks. You do not need to keep a stop watch, but taking a small break after every one hour of work is a good idea. This will help you reduce stress levels. You will notice that a
practice like this actually enhances performance.
